I know that I have been quiet around here for quite some time and I want to thank you all for your patience in this time away. In the middle of 2014 my grandmother took a few falls and I had been going back and forth helping take care of her, and at the end of 2014 as she was needing a bit more help I decided it would be best to hold off with any new work and took an unannounced hiatus. Being there with her and learning about family history and seeing old family photos and videos I began to feel a tug at my heart about the legacy of family and the importance of documenting. Especially memories that are so normal they are routine, because these are often ones we don’t think to remember. The everyday, the mundane, the normal, so often not remembered, yet they are what fill our lives. While at my grandmother’s one month, my brother and his family came down to visit while they were there and I got to spend time with them and take pictures, I felt the tug on my heart again, the tug towards the everyday, the remembering. I was beginning to realize that weddings wasn’t where I needed to be. My heart and passion were being pulled in a different direction.
During this time away I spent a lot of time evaluating Green Anchor Photo and what all I offer and where my heart is. I want to thank every single one of you for the love and support that you have given to me over the years, and so it is with a grateful heart that I am announcing that from here on out, I will no longer be taking any new weddings. My heart – my passion is in my Home Life, Birth, and Couples narratives.
So with this new direction, I have rebranded and Green Anchor has a whole new look and feel! I am so excited about the future of GAP and documenting the love that fills your world. I pray that you can see my heart and if you want to remember the everyday contact me and I’d love to come document your home life!
Take a look around! Leave some comments or send me a message telling me about one of your favorite parts of the day, your routine, your normal.
I love you all!
